How it works

Ask in natural language. CampusThreads supplies the operational context.

Discover

The assistant can identify the connected organization, understand enabled capabilities, find the appropriate CampusThreads workflow, and determine which actions are available.

Understand

Purpose-built queries summarize ambassadors, schedules, campaigns, visits, conversations, training, reports, assets, rewards, community activity, and program outcomes.

Act

Authorized administrators can use mutation tools for supported portal workflows. High-impact actions identify their side effects and use confirmation safeguards where appropriate.

Availability is resolved per connection. The exact tool set depends on the administrator, organization, product configuration, enabled features, sandbox status, and privacy choices. Prospect-capable AI processing is withheld unless the institution has explicitly enabled it.

Automation with explicit boundaries

ControlWhat it means
Tenant-scoped accessEvery authenticated connection operates within one organization. Tools do not expose a cross-tenant company selector.
Resolved capabilitiesClients receive the tools available for the connected administrator and organization, not an assumed universal tool set.
Read/write labelingTools declare whether they are read-only, mutating, externally communicative, or destructive.
Preview and confirmationGuarded operations can require a preview and time-limited confirmation before execution.
Prospect privacy choiceProspect-capable AI tools are withheld unless the institution has enabled the relevant AI processing.
Read-only sandboxThe public demo cannot issue external MCP credentials and only receives side-effect-free MCP tools in its embedded assistant.
Audit and rate controlsCalls are recorded for operational accountability and subject to use limits designed to contain runaway automation.

Frequently asked questions

CampusThreads MCP questions

What is CampusThreads MCP?

CampusThreads MCP is the permission-aware automation interface that lets compatible AI assistants understand and use approved CampusThreads capabilities for an authenticated administrator.

Can CampusThreads MCP access another institution or company?

No cross-tenant company selector is exposed. Each connection is resolved to the authenticated administrator’s own organization and tools operate within that scope.

Does AI answer prospects while pretending to be an ambassador?

No. Ambassador replies are written and sent by real people, never AI. AI can support administrators and ambassadors with approved context, analysis, and safety workflows. Any separate AI-chatbot experience is identified as AI.

Can the public sandbox change data?

No. The public demonstration environment is read-only. Its embedded assistant receives only side-effect-free tools and sandbox accounts cannot issue external MCP credentials.

Does every administrator receive every tool?

No. Availability can depend on the administrator, organization, enabled product features, sandbox status, and privacy configuration. The MCP capability-discovery action returns the resolved set for the current connection.
